About

Millions of visitors leaving East Berlin by train said tearful goodbyes to their friends and relatives from the East at this former border checkpoint. Hardly a year after the wall came down, the building was turned into a nightclub until it was forced to close in 2006. It re-opened as a museum in September 2011 and now houses a permanent exhibition that brings the absurd normality of everyday life in the divided city back to life.

    Ville animée, dynamique que je recommande

    Je recommande Berlin à tout le monde, en venant de Paris j'ai remarqué qu'il y a beaucoup moins de diversité, mais sans que ça mène à se sentir isolé non plus! Je recommande pour les personnes noires qui veulent découvrir la culture Afro de Berlin les restaurants Ethiopiens, et les lieux comme MAAYA ou Ayoka!

    Kreuzberg is where its at

    Berlin is mad diverse especially Kreuzberg and Neukolln. As a Black man I blended right in. The techno scene is legendary - Berghain lived up to the hype. Street food is amazing and cheap. The history is heavy tho - the Holocaust memorial really hit me. Only thing - some areas in East Berlin can feel dodgy at night. Stick to the main neighborhoods and your good.

    Ville ouverte mais quartiers à éviter

    Berlin est une ville incroyablement diverse. En tant qu'homme noir, Kreuzberg et Neukölln sont très multiculturels et je me suis senti chez moi. Par contre, évitez les quartiers de l'est (Marzahn, Lichtenberg) le soir, l'extrême droite y est plus présente. Le mur de Berlin, l'île aux musées, la porte de Brandebourg sont des incontournables.
